This visa covers courses at and above RQF Level 3 (including foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees). You must have an offer from a licensed student sponsor and meet English language and financial requirements. This visa has replaced the former Tier 4 (General) Student Visa.

For children aged 4 to 17 who want to study at an independent (private) school in the UK. Applicants must have an unconditional offer from a licensed Child Student sponsor and parental or guardian consent. The visa is typically granted for the length of the child’s course.

For those coming to the UK to study a short course, such as an English language course lasting between 6 and 11 months. This visa is not suitable for long-term study or for those wishing to work in the UK, and it cannot be extended or switched to another visa category from within the UK.
